MEET THE MAKER

I love to design using nature’s most glorious creation, flowers.

The smiles flowers bring out in people are one of my greatest satisfaction in life.

My Story

During my college years I had the privilege to engage in a fair amount of travel. While living in France I fell in love with all those little flower shops. In the back of my mind I thought, perhaps some day I’ll have my own studio.

In 1993 I got married and moved to the Washington, DC area with my late husband, a fine artist. After a decade of doing graphic design and my husband freelancing, we decided to move to the south east of the United States to start a family. He took on a position as a fine art professor at a private university and I became a mom. We had a five and a four year old and another on the way when he was diagnosed with cancer. Within two years he passed away.

My late husband, John, and I with our babies! This is our last family picture before he passed away in 2009.

I left the design world and dedicated the next two decades to raising my children along side my new husband. I kept busy as a home school mom. On the side I began turning my creative energy into playing with flowers. I did a couple of weddings. Helped my church with floral arrangements. Did arrangements for friends’ special life moments, etc. Every week I would shop around for what was in season. Just about every Friday there would be fresh flowers in our home.

September 2011 Dwayne and I married. My son, Zane, and my mom walked me down the aisle while Sophia and Isabella were the cutest flower girls!

At the end of 2018 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. During my cancer experience I found working in my garden to be very therapeutic. I started growing flowers along with tomatoes and cucumbers. The satisfaction of making an arrangement with fresh blooms from my garden proved to be addictive.

Here I am with my sweet family. We were celebrating the end of my hard chemo treatments. The very next week I had my first surgery.

During the summer of 2021, with the encouragement of my very supportive husband and grown children, I chose to go for my dream of having my own floral design business.

Today, I continue to grow my business with the help of a supportive team of family, friends, freelancers, and some very fantastic customers like you!
