BUNCH OF THE MONTH

I have given much thought about what makes me a different florist than the many other Chattanooga florists out there. Mind you, I do not see other florists as competition since everyone offers something different. I want to be intentional about what I offer my customers as they shop Lizette’s Floral Studio. I wish to not simply give them pretty flowers. For that, they can simply go to Trader Joe’s or Costco and get pretty flowers. It’s more than just flowers. Allow me to explain.

For instance, when I start planning for what I will offer in the month of December, I think about the season. Winter has arrived and in my zone there is not much growing except for evergreens. The bare earth is exposing dark browns and reds. Holiday lights and glitter are everywhere. I visit my local supplier and see that their cooler is full of deep colors. I gravitate towards the abundance of Christmas greens. I place the cool grays of eucalyptus next to them and the red tips of grevillea and now I have a canvas background. I add a deep red rose and peach spray roses to soften the otherwise heavy foliage. A little bit of caspia adds the misty feel of a foggy morning. I feel I must add some hight to my growing bouquet. My palette can use orange snapdragons. Around the corner the pussy willow catches my eye. It naturally reflects light like the many Christmas lights adorning trees this time of year. I could keep adding to this already beautiful bunch but I must refrain myself. A touch of yellow will do and can’t forget a pinecone to finish the winter feel.
The scent and colors of the season are evident is this bunch of the month. Now I wrap it in my signature brown paper and twine. It’s ready to be enjoyed. I can’t keep it for myself. I must share this beauty. What shall I call it? While I think of that, I set out my studio lights. Take a few photos and share them on social media.
Because I have carefully curated the ingredients to this bouquet and the other arrangements that I will offer this month, I can plan ahead. I order in bulk so I have everything I need on hand.
My customers trust that I will be choosing the best of the seasonal product either from local farmers or suppliers. I have carefully curated my offer. It’s fresh. It’s grand. It has value. You can’t buy that at the local grocery store.
I look forward to curating many more bouquets in 2024. Thank you for trusting me with your floral needs! I am your Chattanooga florist. I am Lizette. Here to help you, for the love of flowers.
Oh, and I shall call the bunch of the month, Barbara. That was the name of my grandmother. It’s good to honor those that are no longer with us. It’s good to remember.
